h. Remove the three governor to throttle body screws and lift the governor housing off the throttle body. Remove and discard the governor housing gasket.

i.   Remove the two governor by-pass

jets.

Do not remove the governor spring post, unless damaged or cleaning is necessary. Be sure to check Holley Specifications on particular carburetor you are working onto make certain that post position is correct.

j. Remove the throttle shaft seal, seal retainer and retainer spring.

d. Remove the two idle adjusting screws and springs.

e. Using a small blade screwdriver remove the distributor check valve retainer and distributor check valve, if included.

f.   Remove the pump rod felt packing retainer and f elt packing. Di scard the f elt packing.

g. If it is necessary to remove the throttle shaft or plates, scribe a line lightly across each throttle plate along the edge of the throttle shaft and mark each plate and its corresponding throttle bore with identifying letters to insure proper reassembly. Remove and discard the four throttle plate screws and slide the throttle plates out of the throttle shaft. Remove the throttle shaft and bearing assembly and remove the remaining bearing from the governor side of the throttle body.


NOTE

2. DISASSEMBLY OF THROTTLE

a. Using a small drift pin, remove the throttle lever pin. Remove the throttle lever clamp screw and slide the throttle lever off the shaft.

b. Remove the two throttle operating shaft housing screws and lockwashers. Remove the throttle operating shaft housing and shaft assembly. Remove and discard the gasket.
