Window Operates in One Direction Only
A likely cause of this trouble is defective switches or switch wiring.
First check the individual window switch and the driver's control switch for
the window in question. If one switch will operate the window in both
directions and the other will not, repair or replace the connecting wires or
the switch itself, whichever may be necessary.
If both the window switch and
the driver's control switch will
operate the window in only one
direction, perform the switch test
described on page 14.
Window Operates Sluggishly
The source of this trouble may be mechanical or electrical-or a combination
of both.
Look first for evidence of binding in the glass channels. If the unit is a
scissors type, the motor drive shaft can be turned by hand to find the
point where binding occurs.
If the unit is a single arm type, the motor drive shaft is enclosed and
cannot be turned by hand. In this case, detach the regulator arm from the
glass channel roller and operate the glass manually to find the source of
binding.
If this does not disclose the
source of the trouble, proceed
with the relay and motor test
which is described on pages 14
and 15.
